Ms. Jessica Yuen is an experienced music educator and concert performer who has a deep passion for music and music education. She dedicated business owner and music teacher to over 1800 students and a versatile and active concert performer of piano, guzheng, harp, and violin. Jessica’s professional and music footprints are stretched across many continents, including Asia, North America, and Europe.
She studied the Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music, ARCT in Piano with Mr. Edwin Gnandt from Ambrose University. She later started the Violin with Mr. Ben Neumman from the Mount Royal Conservatory. Her professional Guzheng performance studies were taken with Dr. Lunlun Zou from Hong Kong and later continued with her Harp study with Mr. Park Stickney from Switzerland.
She holds an MBA and Master of Research degree from the University of Liverpool, a Post-graduate PGCert Strings teaching certificate (Violin) from the University of Chichester, United Kingdom, and her bachelor degree in Sociology from the University of Calgary. She is currently working on her Violin Performance Research and her Ph.D. research project in the area of
Women in Classical Music.
She is also a Certified Music for Young Children teacher, Certified Early Childhood Montessori Teacher, Royal Conservatory of Music Canada Advance Teaching Specialist in Piano, Violin, Theory, Music History, and Harmony.
Besides her academic and research involvement, she is currently the Director of Development for the European Strings Teacher Association (ESTA UK Branch) for their Teacher Education program, North American Division. She founded Fusion Arts & Music Festival in Calgary, Canada, and Musesica Fusion Trio ensemble, performed for National Music Center and Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra event in 2019 & 2020. She is actively teaching and founded Viva Musica, Academy of Performing Arts in the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
In addition to her music education involvement, Jessica is also an international concert Pianist, Violinist, and Guzhengist. She was a member of the London Tango Orchestra, United Kingdom, First violinist. (2017 to 2020)

2016 July 24
Jessica produced and performed Piano, Guzheng, and Voice at the Resonated String: A Guzheng & Harp Concert in Calgary, MRU Bella Concert Hall, July 24, 2016. Vice –consul General Gao Zhen Ting presented his greetings at the concert, and Mayor Naheed Nenshi sent his video greetings for the concert.
2016 Fall
The Calgary Zoo invited Jessica as the Fusion Piano & Guzheng performer at the Enmax Butterfly Conservatory, six weeks long lantern event Illuminasia at the Calgary Zoo in Fall 2016.
2016 November
World-renowned Guzheng artist Dr. Lun Lun Zou and Master Erhuist Guo Gan invited Jessica as their piano accompanist for their Japan concert tour, Beau Soir Japan 2016. In addition to her role as a piano accompanist to the Chinese and Japanese traditional and contemporary music, she also took the role of a voice and guzheng coach for the guest performers during the tour. Attendees of the concert tour included former Japanese Prime Minister Mr. & Mrs. Yukio Hatoyama, Chinese Ambassador Mr. & Mrs. Cheng Yonghua, and different media groups such as CCTV Beijing China Tazhou Zhoukan, people.cn, news.cn, the mirror.com.cn, etc.
2017 March
Jessica traveled to Hong Kong for adjudication in the Chinese Folk Music Festival competition.
2017 July
She was invited to perform in one of the Hong Kong returned to China 20th year celebration concert.
2018 April
She produced and recorded an Erhu and Piano Album in Paris, France – Spring Breeze from Home, with a world-renowned Musician from Paris France, Master Guo Gan, who had performed in the movie Kungfu Panda 3 and the recipient of 2015 French Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
2018 May 27
She produced and performed with Master Guo Gan at the Calgary Zoo - Meet the Pandas & the KungFu Panda Erhu Master Concert Gala.
2018 June
She also produced and recorded two Jazz album in Switzerland – Jasmine Flower and Jazz Standard with Jazz Harp virtuoso Mr. Park Stickney and Master Guo Gan
2018 August
She performed her solo piece and Harp ensemble piece with Mr. Park Stickney’s Jazz Harp Camp Concert in Switzerland.
2018 September
Invitation from the Madame Lu Xu, Consulate General of The Peoples of the Republic of China, Calgary Branch. Madame Lu Xu commissioned Ms. Jessica Yuen to produce and perform a Jazz Fusion concert for China’s 69th year National Day Concert along with Master Guo Gan. Concert took place in National Music Center, Calgary.
2018 October
Produced and perform with Master Guo Gan and Mr. Park Stickney - Guo Gan’s New Silk Road Series, Erhu Jazz Harp Piano Concert at the Bella Concert Hall, Mount Royal College, Calgary. She also founded Fusion Arts & Music Festival in Calgary, Canada
2019 August
She founded the Musesica Fusion Trio ensemble. Ensemble performed for C- square series by the City of Calgary, National Music Center.
2019 September
Jessica was appointed the Musical Director and Pianist, an invitation from Madame Lu Xu, the Consulate General of The People’s of the Republic of China, Calgary Branch. Ms. Jessica Yuen produced and performed with The Calgary Civic Orchestra - Symphony and Erhu concert for China’s 70th year National Day Concert along with Master Guo Gan. Concert took place in Jack Singer Concert Hall, Arts Common, Calgary.
Concert Partners included Ingenious Singer Sandra Sutter and her band, former Alberta Ballerina Sara Tabler, Maestro Conductor Rolf Betsch, and Composer-Arranger Michelle Chen and Ethan Hill.
2020 January
Jessica was invited by Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra to perform in their Lunar New Year concert event. The event took place in Jack Singer Concert Hall, Arts Common, Calgary. Event performed with Musesica Fusion Trio.

Jessica strives to continue providing excellent music education programs and music inspiration to her students with her love of music and passion for music education and international music performance. She sets high expectations for them by reflecting and being inspired from her experience as a pianist, violinist, guzhengist, and lifelong learner. She is actively working with various music teachers enriching their music teaching experience internationally.
Her connection between her research in Music, Business and Music Education benefits the community. Her role as a scholar-practitioner in music allows her to share her analytical thinking with her parents and students every day in the music classes. She actively shares her passion for Music, Music Education, and Business with her Academy teachers, parents, and students at her Music Academy and internationally.
